| The concept behind Viking BiddyBall is very similar to that of any other youth recreational sports league, have fun in the form of athletic competition. The difference in BiddyBall is constant use of fundamental teaching throughout the league. Learning the game is the most important part of the league with nothing else ever taking precedent. Although competition is very important, sometimes more so to parents, the teaching concept will always take over. The other thing that is very special about BiddyBall is that it is a league run by the head basketball coaches at Northwest High School and operated by the players from the basketball program. All teams are coached by varsity players, all games are refereed by players, and all positive and negative feedback is directed through the same players. This league will also serve as one of the major fundraisers for the basketball program. In return the league becomes a great community outreach program, a great learning process for our young student athletes, and a fun way for the youth in the community to learn the game of basketball. |
